The governance cluster of the GIZ Country-Office in Palestine implements programmes that contribute to the vision of a democratic Palestinian state with a diverse and active civil society. „Strengthening Civil Society Organizations in the Palestinian Territories (CSP)“ is a GIZ programme that works closely with civil society partner organizations (CSOs) in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem and the Gaza Strip. The goal is to strengthen Palestinian civil society organizations to become strong governance actors, to be able to promote the rights and participation of Palestinian citizens, especially marginalized groups including women, girls, youth and persons with disabilities. In order to perform as strong governance actors, CSOs need to have strong governance structures themselves such as Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL)-Systems, social impact assessment systems, strategy development capacities, digital capacities, inclusive, innovative approaches, and self-sustainability. CSP’s cross-cutting mandate is to leave no one behind.
