About the role
The Food System Governance programme has a variety of global and in-country activities with a commitment to high quality delivery. This programme is part of the Drivers of Food Systems Change Cluster and within that the portfolio theme, “Empowerment of the Marginalised”.
Reporting to the Technical Lead, Food Systems Governance, the intern will support the development of new content for the Food Action Cities platform including articles and case studies informed by a combination of desktop and interview style research, promoting the platform to food systems stakeholders with invitations for further case submissions and conducting routine administration of the platform.
You will also provide support in the areas of research, editorial, communications, general programme coordination and administrative support.
Role specifics include :
- Supporting a variety of Food Systems Governance programme activities including coordinating with external researchers and maintaining the programme knowledge library
- Administering the Food Action Cities platform, including development and source case studies, articles and other content, editorial review of external submissions and coordinate and upload materials etc.
- Supporting development and dissemination of advocacy-communications activities and materials
- Providing accurate and reliable general programme coordination and administration
About you :
The ideal candidate should have excellent writing skills in English with the ability to write in a succinct and accessible style with the aim of reaching a wide, non-scientific audience comprising members of the public and private sectors as well as wider civil society. Candidates’ with project experience of development programmes and understanding of local governance and community-based organisations and/or NGOs would be an advantage.
The postholder should have good communications skills (both written and oral) to support team and partner engagements and internal administrative tasks. Candidates’ with the ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic, international organisation is preferred.
You should be computer literate in using MS Office and social media tools e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Instagram. Candidates will ideally have a bachelor’s degree or master’s degree in international relations, public health, agriculture or food systems, development studies, public policy, public administration, Liberal Arts and Science studies or related fields.
