UNICEF in Vientiane, Lao PDR is looking for an Individual Consultancy: Individual contract for desk review of global evidence on nutrition intervention to support the development of NPAN 2021-2025. The individual Consultant Contact will obtain part time consultant from the period of July-September 2020. Â The Part time consultant will be home based and work remotely.
Summary of key functions/accountabilities :
The consultant shall :
- Undertake desk review and mapping of global evidence for the implementation of population-based nutrition interventions ;
- Prepare comprehensive documentation and recommendation of evidence based and high impact nutrition interventions that could be implemented at scale in Lower Middle-Income Country such as Lao PDR ;
- Make summary presentation of findings to stakeholders involved in preparing the next NPAN (2021-2025).
To qualify as an advocate for every child you will need to have :
- Post- graduate degree in Public health, international development, nutrition, agriculture or other clearly related disciplines ;
- At least 10 years professional work experience in related areas ;
- Excellent skills on systematic review of literature to guide nutrition policy and strategies ;
- Good knowledge and experience in supporting countries with evidence-based research to guide decision making and selection of priority nutrition interventions ;
- Good analytical and report writing skills ;
- Excellent communication skills ;
- Fluency in English is required- both in oral and written communication.

a) Technical Qualification (max. 100 points) weight 70 %

- Good knowledge and experience in supporting countries with evidence-based research to guide decision making and selection of priority nutrition interventions

Experience in… (40 points)
- Experience in and excellent skills on systematic review of literature to guide nutrition policy and strategies
- At least 10 years professional work experience in related areas
Quality of past work (e.g. understanding, methodology) (20 points) :
- Assessment of previous work ;
- Reference check from 2-3 former employers.
b) Financial Proposal (max. 100 points) weight 30 %
The maximum number of points shall be allotted to the lowest Financial Proposal that is opened /evaluated and compared among those technical qualified candidates who have attained a minimum 70 points score in the technical evaluation. Other Financial Proposals will receive points in inverse proportion to the lowest price.
The Contract shall be awarded to candidate obtaining the highest combined technical and financial scores, subject to the satisfactory result of the verification interview.
