Work collaboratively with colleagues, prioritise competing organisational demands to support colleagues involving and managing volunteers. Instil flexibility and dynamism within your team enabling them to succeed while adapting to rapidly changing demands, including disasters and emergencies.
Maintain a portfolio of tools and support packages relevant to the specific contexts in which the British Red Cross involves volunteers ensuring teams and individuals have the support they need to succeed leading to increased volunteer deployment and retention levels.
Key areas of responsibilities include:
- Providing support and management to the Volunteer & Youth management support
- Collaboration and development activity
- Volunteer systems
- Providing data and insight
- Leading the Team
To be a successful Senior Advisor – Volunteer Management & Retention, You’ll need:
- Knowledge of volunteer management and approaches to recruiting, engaging or deploying volunteers
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to build relationships across a large, complex organisation, including with volunteers
- Experience of Volunteer engagement/ management
- Previous experience of working within a changing and ambiguous environment
- Experience of advising and negotiating with stakeholders
- Data savvy: Experience of creating and using data and insight, sharing this with stakeholder and using it to inform the work of colleagues
- Production of resource/ recruitment plans
