The Restoring Family Links service helps people look for family members, restore contact, reunite families, and seeks to clarify the fate of those who remain missing.
You’ll primarily be responsible for the coordination and delivery of casework services for asylum seekers and refugees. For this group living in limbo, without government support they can be particularly vulnerable and at risk of experiencing destitution.
Services include:
- International Family Tracing – working with the ICRC and other national societies around the world to locate people and put them back into contact with their relatives
- Family reunion – reuniting families who have been separated and have been allowed by the Home Office to join their families in the UK
- Travel assistance for refugees whose families live overseas and have been granted a visa to come to the UK
- Refugee family reunion visa application support

Please apply for this important and varied role if you have the following experience/skills:
- Delivering casework with vulnerable clients (ideally within the asylum support system), and you’re able to effectively advocate on behalf of clients to realise their rights and entitlements.
- An understanding of issues relating to refugees, asylum seekers and other vulnerable migrants
- You’re a team player; you’re able to work as part of a team within what can sometimes be a high-pressure environment. You will have experience of cross-agency partnership and collaborative working too.
- You’re a great communicator with the ability to adapt your communication based on the audience.
- Providing sensitive, safe, and empowering support to distressed people in vulnerable situations
