Accountabilities & Responsibilities
New Product Development :
- In close coordination with the head of the group, pro-actively lead on all stages of certain new product development initiatives agreed with the head of the group, leading to increased private debt mobilisation, working to ensure that new products meet internal and external requirements. Ensure, together with the group head, that each of the approved products support the Bank’s strategic, transition and profitability goals, whilst also meeting market requirement in terms of investor risk, return and impact thresholds;
- Take pro-active lead on product and market analysis and due diligence and structuring work agreed with the group head, taking responsibility for the preparation and content of all relevant reports and material;
- As agreed with the group head, actively contribute to the preparation of certain proposals on project resourcing at pilot and full launch stages for each new product under development;
- Build and maintain strong internal and external working relationships to ensure effective product delivery in terms of adequate resource alignment and focus, and adequate investor interest.
New Debt Mobilisation Initiatives :
- Pro-actively contribute and, where relevant, lead in specific agreed interactions with other MDBs, external stakeholders and investors on topics and initiatives that contain a private debt mobilisation aspect, component or outcome. Work on these in close coordination with other units such as Impact & Partnerships, DCF, Banking, DMR and GECA;
- Take pro-active responsibility for internal discussions on data needs, joint reporting, potential programmatic co-financing solutions and blended finance initiatives which have the scope of advancing the Bank’s mobilisation mandate through direct linkages to the new product development responsibilities.
Lead on Debt Mobilisation Metrics, Enabling Factors and Cultural Alignment :
- Support leading key internal stakeholders on the preparation of data-based integrated marketing material of relevance for new private debt investors. The material needs to meet investor needs and must include the financial performance of the Bank’s historical activities, as well market compatible impact and climate reporting standards;
- Actively contribute to the effort to ensure that this material is used in all interactions with new and existing debt investors.
Additional Responsibilities :
- Provide guidance and support in driving the preparation of all internal approvals and related material required in each of the above areas;
- Work closely with the group head on all business development opportunities to attract new private debt investors;
- Pro-actively coach, mentor and support junior team members;
- Support the Execution and Advisory group on transaction work as required;
- Deputise for the head of the group where required or requested;
- Attend industry and mobilisation-related events and conferences, meetings with government authorities, investors, organisations and business communities as appropriate and required to advance the Bank’s mobilisation mandate.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Qualifications and Skills :
- Relevant university degree. Master’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in the areas of expertise;
- Credit analysis skills, with the ability to interpret accounts, understanding local and international accounting principles and practice of credit analysis;
- Strong quantitative/numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information and to design and use financial models;
- Some experience in driving non-standard financial structures or initiatives through an institution to achieve formal support and approval;
- Sound decision making skills with a focus on providing solutions. Proven business judgement and high ethical and professional standards;
- Ability to communicate with and manage, internally, stakeholders; externally, debt investors;
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English;
- Ideally fluency in another major language, in addition to English;
- Ideally prior experience in EBRD’s countries of operations.
Experience and Knowledge :
- Relevant financial industry experience from an investment or commercial bank, private equity firm, asset management firm, or auditing/financial consulting firm operating to international standards;
- Demonstrated experience in debt products, encompassing not only the syndicated loans market, but also a combination of leveraged and/or project finance, climate finance, structured products, credit asset management and insurance experience.
