Could you lead in the development of our financial accounting policies and controls framework?

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join a leading humanitarian organisation. The purpose of this role is to lead and support in the development of the existing and new financial accounting policy and controls environment. The successful candidate will make a real difference to our established controls; ensuring that the monitoring and control mechanisms are of the highest standards. They will work collaboratively with the wider finance function, developing and updating existing policies and developing risk and controls framework. They will work cross-function to engender a culture where financial risks are mitigated and minimised. They will lead in the development of a culture where there is a strong appreciation of financial compliance.

About You
To fulfil the requirements of the role, the ideal candidate will need to demonstrate the following:
  • A relevant qualification in accountancy and technical accounting experience
  • Experience of systems and controls review and implementation
  • Proficient with the use of IT systems, especially Microsoft Office 365 applications and accountancy software
  • Experience in an external or internal audit role
  • Experience of building successful business relationships (both internal and external)
  • High attention to detail and excellent analytical skills
