PEG delivers Pay-As-You-Go (PAYG) asset-based financing to consumers who lack both access to reliable electricity and formal banking services. PEG’s anchor product – a basic solar home system that includes six lights, a phone charger, a radio, and a TV – allows consumers living on $5-10 per day to access clean light for working and studying after hours, avoid harmful air pollution from kerosene based lighting solutions, and also build credit for additional products and services over time.
To date, PEG has raised over $45 million and has over 450 full time staff, and 550 commission based agents across Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal and Mali selling thousands of products per month to underserved customers. PEG has also won numerous awards, including the prestigious 2017 Ashden International Award for excellence in sustainable energy, Inclusive Fintech 50, and was named as one of the “fastest growing companies in Africa” by the London Stock Exchange.
What you will be doing :
Reporting :
- Team management and development :
- Centralize and prioritize requests and tasks ;
- Responsible of the data team productivity ;
- Coach, train the team.
- Manage the database (Data WH, Systems, Trackers, etc.) ;
- System master data management ;
- Build cycle reporting (daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly) with collected data ;
- Provide data to the stakeholders to make better decisions ;
- Help employees learn new analytical skills ;
- Understand the analytic needs of all business units and translate these into meaningful and actionable reports and/or data visualizations ;
- Design, develop, implement, support, and present dashboards, reports, and visualizations to help stakeholders maximize the value of their data ;
- Build and implement QA processes for data validation and functionalities ;
- Document processes, workflows for data cleaning, transformation, aggregations e.t.c related to deliverables for easy modification, maintenance and management of dashboards/visualizations as needed ;
- Review processes and systems and identify and opportunities for improvement
Business Analysis :
- Analyze the reporting and provide business insight and recommendation to the stakeholders ;
- Perform ad hoc analysis in order to help stakeholders making decisions, identify opportunities and patterns ;
- Determine how to improve existing business processes ;
- Analyze the impact of implementing new features and business initiatives ;
- Proactively research business, operational, and financial issues to create models that help analyze those issues ;
- Define with the stakeholders the monthly and target and present the business performance update ;
- Translate analytical findings into business actions ;
- Support the business with vital insights and analysis needed to foster business growth, productivity and efficiency ;
- Communicate with stakeholders and ensure effective time management across multiple deliverables.
Business controlling :
- Establish and improve upon existing management controlling and reporting practices ;
- Identify, map and analyze business processes as well as corresponding KPIs ;
- Standardize and improve the business controlling process. Create dictionaries, manuals and FAQs to ease the role’s performance cross-functionally ;
- Produce and run a cycle audit reporting and challenge management ;
- Collaborate with the business to build tool (system, tracker, forms, ticketing system, etc) in order to execute and follow procedure and policy ;
- Design and measure KPIs (sales, operation, credit) ;
- People performance management by scoring sales, operations and credit division ;
- Ensure coherence and accuracy of the distribution plan (dispatch, transfer, stock level, etc.).
What we are looking for :
- Master degree in international business, information systems, business informatics, statistics, data science, computer science, economics, engineering or similar ;
- Minimum 5 years of experience in quantitative analysis, preferably for a FinTech or Telecom company ;
- Strong analytical skills and mindset regarding funnels, cohorts, and business KPIs ;
- Decent know-how in building SQL queries ;
- Convenient handling of at least one programming language, preferably Python ;
- Excellent command of Excel ;
- Experience with BI tools such as PowerBI or Tableau is a plus * A structured and solution-oriented work style to complete projects ;
- You feel comfortable in a fast-paced, dynamic and ever-changing environment – you improve processes and get things done at the same time ;
- Fluency in English is a plus ;
- Operationally involved; Works in tandem with CEO, COO and Managers, Stakeholder coordination, Cross-functional player, project management, collaborative tool.
