Mission

Role
Under the supervision of Support Coordinator, the Driver support the effective operation of the Geneva Call (GC) Logistics Team and related programme activities located in Juba/South Sudan Office, by providing general logistics assistance in accordance with GC policies and procedures and relevant donor guidelines.
Main activities
- Responsible for pickups and drop offs of staff to and from the Office and airstrip.
- Maintain the vehicle logbook for all trips
- In liaison with the line manager, arrange for repairs and servicing
- Management of the car pool, including vehicle allocation and the preparation of the monthly fleet report
- Provide assistance in local procurement, in accordance with GC procurement procedures and thresholds, including obtaining quotations, handling cash purchases, and receiving deliveries in the field office.
- Assist in stock management
- Assist in the filing (physical and electronic) of accurate and up-to-date departmental documents, in accordance with GC’s logistics and finance policies and procedures
- Any other general fleet & logistics assistance as directed by line management
Main qualifications
Education and experience
- Valid South Soudan driver’s license;
- High School Certificate is a plus- preferred in Mechanical work or any related Field of Vehicle Mechanic and Driving;
- Experience from working as a Driver Mechanic and/or Driver in a humanitarian/recovery context;
- At least 3 year and up to 5 years of experience in working as a Driver Mechanic/Driver in a humanitarian/recovery context in a similar organisation;
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts.
Technical skills
- Technical proficiency in vehicle maintenance;
- Excellent knowledge and respect of the South Sudanese Traffic Rules of the Road Safety;
- First aid training completed;
- Good interpersonal skills, punctuality;
- Ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural team;
- Affinity with Geneva Call mandate and principles;
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office (MS Excel, Word, and Outlook).
Languages
- Some knowledge of English and Juba Arabic.
