Are you an organised and reliable team player? Do you have experience with processing expense claims or compensation and benefits payments? We are looking for a dynamic, cooperative person with good attention to detail to join our Personnel Accounting Section in the Finance and Administrative Processes Department.

Functions

The Expense Claims Administrator will ensure the efficient and accurate control and payment of all financial requests relating to members of personnel. This amounts to approximately 25,000 claims in the year. You will work in tandem with one other colleague, and will gradually take on the following responsibilities:

  • Control a variety of reimbursement claims; such as travel, subsistence and cost of living allowances, entertainment or sundries, family and social benefits.
  • Prepare the related payment files.
  • Coding and recording of accounting entries.
  • Regular monitoring of specific accounts.
  • Maintaining personnel’s bank details.
  • Answering ad hoc queries from Members of Personnel.
  • Performing diverse administrative duties, such as processing transactions related to conferences organised by CERN, issuing ad hoc financial attestations.
  • Maintaining regular contact and good relations with both internal services and external contacts.

Qualifications

Higher administrative diploma or equivalent relevant experience in the field of accountancy or finance or a related field.

Experience:

Initial professional experience in finance and accounting – preferably in the field of reimbursements to employees or accounts payable.

Technical competencies:

  • Knowledge of administrative rules and procedures.

Language skills:

Spoken and written English and French: ability to understand and speak both languages in professional contexts as well as the ability to prepare/draft and/or translate correspondence in both languages.
