Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent will perform the following principal duties:
a. Take responsibility for developing and maintaining product roadmaps, in consultation with product owners, development teams, account managers and clients from member states. Translate product roadmaps into well-defined product requirements including features, user stories, release strategies and acceptance test criteria.
b. Continuously review business needs of the beneficiary IP offices, refine priorities, outline milestones and deliverables, and identify opportunities and risks in the product roadmap. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to refine the product vision, strategy, features, and prioritization.
c. Based on industry best-practices and methodologies, design, document and implement quality metrics, tools and quality assurance strategies. Coordinate the quality assurance activities of the products and provide regular progress and status reporting to other team members and management.
d. Take responsibility for coordinating the project delivery of the section, in coordination with regional managers and experts. Ensure that projects deployed in beneficiary IP offices are documented, achieving project and milestone targets, in-line with process and quality measures, and that priorities, resources, timelines and costs are tracked effectively and reported regularly to management.
e. Take responsibility for the documentation regarding the product features and roadmap to be published on the WIPO web site. Ensure regular communications with beneficiary IP offices to capture feedback and priorities regarding the products.
f. Keep up-to-date with the latest technologies and methodologies for delivering and supporting complex software applications and contribute to activities to integrate new methodologies, guidelines and procedures into the projects of the Division.
g. Undertake other related activities as required.
Education (Essential)
Advanced university degree in computer science, information science, statistics, mathematics, economics, business administration, sciences or other related discipline. A first-level university degree plus two years of relevant experience in addition to the experience requested below may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.
Project management certification (PRINCE2, PMP or equivalent).
Language (Desirable)
Good knowledge of at least one UN official language other than English.
