Job Description

The Beam Instrumentation (BI) group is in charge of the instrumentation for beam parameters across the Accelerator Complex. Large amounts of data are produced either as beam measurements or as information related to the system components (e.g. mechanics, analog/digital electronics).

BI has developed a framework to systematically analyze this data, based on existing tools (e.g. Spark based NXCALS logging system, Python and its associated data analysis libraries, and Openshift and Django for application development)

You will work in the improvements of the tools to include more anomaly detection algorithms, flexible scheduling of jobs and improved notification of relevant results. This will be done in collaboration with other groups with similar needs.

You will also work on specific analysis for Beam Position Monitors (BPM) such as time synchronization integrity checks, tracking of orbit drifts or optical lines power monitoring.
