DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the overall supervision of the Knowledge and Information Management Officer, the intern will be engaged in the following duties:
– Supporting the Knowledge and Information Management Officer in the development and implementation of a plan for the redesign of intranet
– Migrating and organizing content to the new intranet
– Support knowledge sharing and the maintenance of the WMO intranet;
– Working with SharePoint applications including content libraries and lists
– Support training activities for internal stakeholders on the new intranet
– Support the identification and development of areas for the improvement of knowledge management practices within GS;
– Support the implementation of the Communities of Practice (COPs) in WMO by reporting on community analytics and supporting knowledge sharing initiatives within the COPs.
QUALIFICATIONS |
Education
At least a bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications, media studies, digital communications, or a related field. |
Experience
Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participation in the WMO Internship programme. |
Other requirements
– Have a demonstrated keen interest in the work of the United Nations and its specialized agencies such as WMO
– Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views |
Languages
Excellent knowledge of English (spoken and written) is essential. Knowledge of the other official languages of WMO would be an advantage.
(Note: The official languages of the Organization are Arabic, Chinese, English, French, Russian and Spanish.)
