FOR PROPOSED CONSTRUCTION OF POST-HARVEST CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE FOR GRAINS AT STRATEGIC MARKET CENTRE

This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in United Nations Development Business online (UNDB online), and on the African Development Bank’s Internet Website (www.afdb.org).

  1. The United Republic of Tanzania (hereinafter called “Borrower”) received financing from the African Development Bank (AfDB) and Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) in the form of a financing toward the cost of Tanzania Initiatives for Preventing Aflatoxin Contamination (TANIPAC) Project. The Ministry of Agriculture intends to apply a portion of the proceeds of this financing to cover eligible payments under the contract for the proposed construction of Post-harvest Centre of Excellence for Grains at Strategic Market Centre to be built at Mtanana B, Kongwa District in Dodoma.
  1. The Ministry of Agriculture now invites sealed Bids from eligible contractors for the execution of the works. The works have been packed into three (3) lots as follows:-

Note: The bidder may bid for one or more than one lot, in each lot, the bidder must quote for all quantities specified in the respective

  1. Bids will be conducted under International Competitive Bidding (ICB) in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works.
  2. Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information from and inspect the bidding documents at the office of Secretary, Ministerial Tender Board, Ministry of Agriculture, University of Dodoma, School of Humanities, Block 9, Ground Floor, Room No. I 121 from 09.00 Hours to 15:00 Hours local time from Monday to Fridays inclusive except on Public Holidays.
  1. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the said Executing Agency, and upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Tanzania Shillings 200,000. The method of payment will be by Government Electronic Payment Gateway (GEPG) payable to Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Agriculture, P. O Box 2182, Dodoma upon collection of bills from the cashier.
  2. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Bank’s Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Works.
  3. Bids must be delivered to the office of the Secretary of Ministerial Tender Board on or before 10:00 HOURS on Thursday 22nd July 2021 and must be accompanied by a bid security as indicated below or its equivalent in a freely convertible currency in form of unconditional Bank Guarantee.

  1. Bids shall remain valid for 120 days after the deadline for bid submission prescribed above.
  2. Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 10:30 Hours on Thursday 22nd July 2021 at the Conference Room of TANIPAC Project located at Ex-NFRA Building VETA/ Bunge Road (Opposite CBE Collage)
