Location : Chad, mainly based at Zakouma NP, with regular short or medium-term missions in one of the following other AP stations: Ennedi Natural and Cultural Reserve, Siniaka-Minia and Aouk
Reporting to : Park Manager with a dotted line to AP Information Analysis Program Manager

Background ;
African Parks is a non-profit conservation organization that takes on the complete responsibility for the rehabilitation and long-term management of national parks in partnership with governments and local communities. We currently manage 19 national parks and protected areas in 12 countries covering over 20 million hectares in: Angola, Benin, Central African Republic, Chad, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Malawi, Mozambique, the Republic of Congo, Rwanda, Zambia, South Soudan and Zimbabwe.
Job Overview:
The Information/Data Manager is responsible for developing, in accordance with African Parks SOPs
and in close collaboration with the APN Information Analysis Program Manager, individual but linked Information Analysis functions for Ennedi, Greater Zakouma (Zakouma + Siniaka NP) and Aouk.
Key responsibilities:
- Manage the administration of the local database software (Geosuite) for users in Chad, including user accounts and maintenance of the network with the support of the AP Information Analysis Program Manager and the Regional Technology Development Manager
- In adherence to the AP Information Analysis SOPs, support the enhancement of each park’s information collection and analyst capabilities to address the park’s Priority Information Analysis Requirements (PIRs) and provide mentorship at both individual and team level Information Analysis operations.
- Ensure that Information Analysis support and strategy is coherent with park-level law enforcement, community development and biodiversity strategies.
- In collaboration with Park-level Information Analysis units, maintain all keystone documents relevant to the departments function.
- Coordinate with other regional parks and agencies to ensure relevant reporting flows both ways.
- Provide country level strategic Information Analysis support to parks.
- Information Analysis Supervise day-to-day work of park-level Team, including but not limited to work schedules, human resource requirements and personnel development, and other such activities as may be required or requested by Park Manager.
- Ensure adherence to the highest ethical and legal standards, as well as to APN values, in all Team activities and by all Team personnel.
What does success look like in 2-years’ time?
– Each Park / Project of AP Chad portfolio benefits from an operational Information Analysis function;
– Information Analysis plays an active role in Threat Analysis and Area Familiarization as iterative processes better informing Strategic and tactic planning;
– Park-level and regional consumers of Information Analysis in Chad Parks are satisfied with the Information Analysis function, and utilizing it for park management decision making;
– Relevant Information Analysis at the sub-regional level is shared with other AP parks, e.g. Chinko, Garamba

Competencies and Experiences :
- Demonstrated capacity to train and mentor local teams in remote African contexts.
- Highly organised individual with analytical abilities.
- Excellent computer literacy and willingness to learn new software.
- Previous experience working in Information Analysis required.
- French language fluency is critical, English and Arabic proficiency is preferred.
- Excellent written and communication skills and ability to work with diverse cultures.
