EY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide technical support and assist in the development and implementation of various activities and processes on WFP corporate monitoring systems, monitoring tools and methods, supporting alignment with wider programme policies and guidelines.
  • Provide specialized support on monitoring data analysis to ensure that the various activities are performed within the established targets following WFP’s policies, procedures and standard.
  • Prepare a range of reports that involve extracting and performing and statistical analysis and drawing insights about trends and issues based on data captured in corporate monitoring systems. Visualize data in different ways for the purpose of reporting, communication and use. Perform data quality checks to ensure consistency and adherence of deliverables to corporate standards and quality control.
  • Support in reviewing country strategic plan monitoring frameworks, log frames, annual reports, and other monitoring function outputs for quality control and oversight. Liaise with internal counterparts to support effective collaboration, reconciliation of data across corporate systems and quality checks of ongoing project activities and all corporate exercises to ensure Country Offices are supported and issues are timely escalated.
  • Coordinate and communicate with Country Offices and counterparts on monitoring, manage the regional M&E community of practice, and support the management of workshops with a monitoring component
  • Support the capacity building of Country Office M&E focal points on Monitoring systems and tools for data collection and management. Suggest processes improvements for efficient and effective RBB monitoring support to Country Offices.
  • Act as a point of contact for resolution of a range of operational queries and problems within the corporate systems and a specific technical area of responsibility.
  • Follow standard emergency preparedness practices to ensure WFP is able to quickly respond and deploy needed resources to affected areas at the onset of the crisis. Conduct support missions to countries in the region.

STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education: 

  • Completion of secondary school education. A post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.
  • Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station and in the duty station’s language, if different.

Experience:

  • At least 6 years of experience in in data management and analysis or monitoring and/or evaluation, including strong experience in the utilization of online data management and reporting tools.

Desired experiences: 

  • Has worked with technical teams (i.e. nutrition, VAM, etc.).
  • Has contributed to implementation of programmes.
  • Has observed or assisted with policy discussions.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge and background of information management principles.
  • Demonstrated skills in statistical analysis,with the ability to identify insights and present data in different ways for reporting, communication and use.
  • Good communication skills to provide specialized monitoring support services to a wide range of individuals and transfer knowledge to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of individuals across functions and countries.
  • Experience in coordinating the work of others and self, and training/supporting others.
  • Desirable: Tableau and other data visualization software packages and systems.
  • Creative, innovative mind, comfortable testing and learning new technologies.
  • Proven problem solving and critical thinking skills

Languages:

Fluency in both oral and written communication in English
