About the job

The Grants Specialist is responsible for the rapid scale-up of funding for the Türkiye Emergency Response, including the development of an emergency resource mobilization strategy, donor mapping and engagement, business development, grant tracking, and reporting. The Grants Specialist will also support in engagement with local partners.

Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities

Programme Development 

  • Conduct rapid donor mapping and develop donor engagement strategy

  • Lead in developing and/ or reviewing concept notes, proposals, and amendments for emergency programming.

Grants management and compliance 

  • Ensure country office compliance with grants management system (GMS)
  • Lead in preparing, facilitating, and following up on grant meetings as well as in drafting, finalising, and sharing minimum set of documents required for grant meetings for emergency funding

  • Lead in reporting and donor engagement.

Donor compliance 

  • Provide training on compliance with donors’ regulations and requirements.
  • Provide support to Emergency staff to ensure operational compliance of grants with guidelines and donor regulations in the areas of finance, logistics, procurement, and human resources.
  • Prepare and present on donor rules and regulations during grants meetings.

Other 

  • Liaise with finance colleagues on budget follow up and expenditure levels of running grants ;
  • Inductions of new colleagues ;
  • Other tasks as identified by the Emergency Response Manager.

About you

To be successful in this role we expect you to have

Experience and technical competencies:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, specifically in capacity building, grants and reporting.  Skills and experience in managing and coordinating with multiple partners concurrently is highly regarded;

  • Previous experience in working with Syrian refugees, experience in operational capacity building of CBOs, and experience in developing an operational capacity building toolkit all strongly regarded;
  • Strong level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point);
  • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility;
  • Experience in developing tools, manuals, training modules and plans for the purpose of capacity building and project management;

  • Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.

Education :

  • Bachelor degree in international relief and development, social sciences, public health, statistics/research methods or related relevant field. Master’s Degree is highly regarded.

Languages : Full professional proficiency in English.
