GENERAL OBJECTIVES

The logistics coordinator pilot logistics activities of the mission to ensure the smooth running of SI operations in the country. She/He ensures the implementation of SI procedures and logistics tools on the mission and ensure their compliance and their proper use. She/He helps define the mission strategy, drafting and design projects necessary means and activities SI. She/He is the referent on the mission and the link between headquarters and the mission for any issue related to logistics.

SPECIFIC STAKES AND CHALLENGES

  • 5 bases with different volume of activities and expectation;
  • Adaptation of SI rules and procedures to the context to meet a good balance between operationality and compliance;
  • Volatility of markets (suppliers, industry);
  • Change in the security context which has impact on logistics activities;
  • Necessary flexibility.

PRIORITIES FOR THE 2/3 FIRST MONTHS:

  • Prepare for the upcoming winterization. Inclusion in the programmatic strategy to be able to respond in time. Type of items, volume and localization must be discussed over the summer to avoid delays;
  • Support bases to identify and train key staffs to replace expats managers by Ukrainians. Same work to be done at coordination level;
  • Implement the relevant framework contracts at mission level both programmatic and logistics one. Supporting the prepositioning strategy with the frameworks and stocks in Kyiv and other strategic areas;
  • Prepare for the roll out of our Logistics supply software;
  • Reinforce networking with other INGOs with similar constraints.

YOUR PROFILE

Education: Logistic background.

Experience:

  • At least 3 years of experience as Logistic Coordinator or similar position for an international NGO;
  • At least 4 years of experience as logistician in humanitarian organization;
  • Previous experience with SI would be likeable;
  • Previous experience in unstable environment (conflict / post conflict country);
  • Experience in intervening on emergency context with multisectorial response;
  • Experience of team management;
  • Previous experience in Ukraine would be an asset.

Technical skills and knowledge:

  • Training and capacity building skills;
  • Coordination, and diplomatic skills;
  • MS office;
  • IT and Communication device management skill, including cyber security;
  • Good analytical skills, ability to adapt;
  • Good communication and diplomatic skill;
  • Good organization skills;
  • Capacity to work under pressure in a tense security environment.

Languages: English, knowledge of Ukrainian / Russian would be a strong asset.
