JOB DESCRIPTION
General objective and main responsibilities:
The Partnership and Grant Coordinator plays a key role in developing and monitoring the partnership and financial strategies for the country office. He or she guarantees a high level of interdepartmental coordination in the management of grants and provides strategic support to the country office on issues of donor relations, external representation, implementing partners management, external compliance, and donor accountability.
The key responsibilities for this job include (but are not limited to) the donors’ relationships, contributing to the country office funding strategy, being in charge of the contract management, overlooking the partnership, coordinating the audit & external compliance, as well as the external communication.
Priorities for the first 2-3 months:
- Strengthening the Grants and Partnership Department (Grants & Partnership Coordinator and Reporting & Communication officer) with the support of the Deputy Country Director for Programs; clarifying its role and positioning within the coordination team
- Taking a significant leadership in the next round of project proposal writing as well as in donor reporting.
- Consolidating donor and partner mapping and designing the first draft of funding strategy (with both DCD-P and CD)
- Continue to assist the CD in donor engagement planning and follow-up.
Management:
The position will be lined managed by the Deputy Country Director and will be part of the Coordination Program team including a WASH Coordinator, an FSL Coordinator and a MEAL Coordinator. The position is under the functional supervision of the Donors Development and Accountability Manager, based in HQ. This position manages a Reporting and Communication Officer.
Budget
The mission has a forecasted budget for 2023 of about 16M Euros. Main donors are: ECHO, BHA, SDC, Dutch MoFA, CDC, CIAA, YHPF
YOUR PROFILE
Specific skills and experience:
- At least 2 years of relevant experience in grant management in humanitarian contexts;
- Previous successful experience developing projects and writing proposals to humanitarian donors;
- Knowledge of main donor regulations and priorities, particularly ECHO, BHA, OCHA;
- Experience in supporting emergency responses in a tense security context and remote setting;
- Experience in the Middle East is an asset.

- Excellent analytical and writing skills;
- Excellent communication;
- Excellent abilities to coordinate with people of different sectors/departments;
- Detail oriented, organized, and able to manage competing urgent requests and priorities;
- Flexible and able to handle pressure well.
Language:
- Excellent English (written, spoken and read) is mandatory;
- Proficiency in French will be considered as an advantage.
