TENDER FOR SUPPLY AND DELIVERY OF EIGHT (8 No.) FLOATING FISH CAGES AND FOUR (4 No.) FLOATING FISH PENS FOR LAKE TANGANYIKA DEVELOPMENT PROJECT IN MPULUNGU DISTRICT – NORTHERN PROVINCE

This Invitation for Bids (IFB) follows the General Procurement Notice (GPN) for this Project that appeared in the United Nations Development Business (UNDB) online and the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group’s website on 20th October 2015 and in the local print media.

The Government of the Republic of Zambia has received a loan from the AfDB and a grant from the Global Environmental Facility (GEF) to finance the Lake Tanganyika Development Project (LTDP) under the Ministry of Water Development, Sanitation and Environmental Protection (MWDSEP).

The objective of the Project is to support the protection of the ecological integrity of Lake Tanganyika and to improve the socio-economic well-being of the population in the lake basin. The Project has the following components: 1: Integrated Sustainable Natural Resource Management; 2: Alternative Livelihood and Social Infrastructure; and 3: Project Coordination and Management.

The Lake Tanganyika Development Project (LTDP) now invites sealed bids from eligible bidders for the Supply and delivery of eight (8 No.) floating fish cages and four (4 No.) floating fish pens for Lake Tanganyika Development Project in Mpulungu District – Northern Province.

International Competitive Bidding (ICB) will be conducted in accordance with the Bank’s Rules and Procedures for Procurement of Goods and Works.

Interested eligible bidders may obtain further information and inspect the Bidding Document from the office of Secretary, Provincial Procurement Committee at the Provincial Administration offices, along Zambia Road, P.O. A complete set of Bidding Documents may be purchased by interested bidders upon the submission of a written application to the Procurement and Supplies Unit situated at Provincial

Administration – Northern Province along Zambia Road, Kasama; and upon the payment of a non-refundable fee of ZMW 500.00 (or equivalent in freely convertible currency) in Cash or Bank certified cheque. The provisions in the Instructions to Bidders and in the General Conditions are those of the Bank’s Standard Bidding Document for Procurement of Goods.

Bids shall be submitted in accordance with the Instructions to bidders contained in the bidding documents. All Bids, in sealed envelopes, clearly marked “Supply and delivery of eight (8 No.) floating fish cages and four (4 No.) floating fish pens for Lake Tanganyika Development Project in Mpulungu District – Northern Province” shall be deposited in the Tender box at Provincial Administration, at the Reception, along Zambia Road, Kasama, not later than Tuesday, 28th July, 2020 at 10:00 hours local time. All bids should be accompanied by a bank guarantee of US$ 5,000.00 (or equivalent in freely convertible currency).

Bids shall remain valid for 120 days after the deadline for bid submission prescribed above.

Bids will be opened in the presence of bidders’ representatives who choose to attend at 10:00 hours local time on Tuesday, 28th July, 2020, at the offices of the Provincial Administration, Purchasing and Supplies Unit, Zambia Road, Kasama. LATE BIDS SHALL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
